Due to the fact that the POP3 SSL connection is encrypted, Endian Firewall is unable to scan the mails which go through that connection.
Therefore, if you like to use POP3 over SSL it is necessary to:
- disable the encryption from the client to Endian Firewall. You can achieve this by disabling encryption (do not use SSL), but
- change the port for POP3 (plain text) to 995 instead of 110.
So the connection to Endian Firewall will remain plain text, but since the connection goes to port 995 Endian Firewall realizes that you would like to use POP3s and creates a (encrypted) POP3 over SSL connection from Endian Firewall to the POP3 server.
